Praan Naturals Leuconostoc Ferment Extract is a standardized fermented extract that is derived from naturally occurring compounds. It offers impressive antimicrobial activity without the risks associated with using synthetic preservatives. It is well suited for use in the formulation of the finest beauty, cosmetic and personal care products.

Leuconostoc Ferment Extract is produced by fermenting Leuconostoc kimchii in a defined growth medium. Leuconostoc kimchii, a lactic acid bacteria, is best known for its role in the creation of the delicious, spicy Korean fermented cabbage dish known as kimchi.

The extract is comprised solely of Leuconostoc Ferment Filtrate and Water. The extract is standardized to achieve a composition of 18-22% Salicylic Acid.

Praan Naturals Leuconostoc Ferment Extract is suitable for use in certified organic products because the raw materials used to produce the extract are NOP-compliant as specified in Title 7, Part 205.605 and 205.606 of the Code of Federal Regulations.

Uses:

Praan Naturals Leuconostoc Ferment Extract is an effective anti-microbial that functions as a natural alternative to synthetic preservatives within certified organic and conventional cosmetic product formulation. It also demonstrates effective use as a moisturizing and conditioning agent. Its composition includes 18-22% Salicylic Acid making it especially beneficial in formulations intended for problematic skin and hair conditions.

Leuconostoc Ferment Extract is water soluble and can be added to water-based formulations, or it can be added during the water phase of emulsions that maintain a pH range of 3.0-8.0. It is recommended that Leuconostoc Ferment Extract be added during the cooling phase at temperatures below 140 Degrees F (60 Degrees C) and added prior to the addition of thickeners such as xanthan gum. Leuconostoc Ferment Extract has the potential for incompatibilities with highly anionic ingredients including thickeners. Please contact us for details.
